New cooling system installed after the fire in Swedbank’s office

The head office of Sweden’s largest bank, Swedbank, employs 900 people who have their workplace in Stockholm. When a fire started in the building most of them had thankfully finished for the day. However, the house was badly damaged and the main priority after the accident was to secure heat sensitive equipment and computer servers. The biggest challenge occurred when exchanging the old cooling elements, which had to be done without losing the cooling capacity necessary for the vital data halls.

Experts from Proco Services blocked the main cooling system and inserted a bypassing pipe on to the existing pipeline. Thus, maintaining the cooling effect during the exchange.

Proco engineers perform a so-called size - to - size branching, ie the valves have the same dimensions as the existing pipes. New pipes can thus be connected to the cooling element on the roof.

The blocking body is pushed into the pipe and the flow is turned off in the old system, which then disconnected completely.
